Indian School Ibri celebrated its 27th Arts Festival with glitz and glamour in the school auditorium on the 26th of October 2019.The Arts Festival, the festival of talents’ aims to bring out the dormant talents of students and give them scope for creative expressions.

Mr. P Kannan Nair, Second Secretary (Consular) Indian Embassy, Muscat,graced the occasion as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He was given a red carpet welcome at the school entrance by the members of SMC, the Principal, staff and students followed by the guard of honour by the student council led by the Head boy Mast. AbhijayAnoop and Head girl Ms. Lindsey R. Macedo.

The Principal, V S Suresh, extended a warm welcome to everyone. During his speech, he expressed his sincere thanks to His majesty Sultan Qaboosbin Said. He thanked all the parents and teachers for their efforts and hard work. He advised the students to build their confidence by taking part in the cultural events. He also  congratulated all the winners and imparted the knowledge that winning is not important but to take part holds success. Next, Dr. Thomas Varghese, the President of SMC, greeted the chief guest, other dignitaries and the audience. He thanked the former presidents, members of the SMC for their sincere contributions and welcomed each one for the 27th Arts Festival.He thanked the chief guest whole heartedly for gracing the occasion. He said that the school has set standards and goals in the area of academics, sports, discipline, leadership and more. He referred to the Arts Festival as a show case for the development of the mind and body.

The chief guest thanked the SMC for giving him an opportunity to visit Ibri. He sincerely thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for his generosity in allowing us to follow Indian culture in the Sultanate of Oman. He exhorted the Indian community members of Ibri to be grateful to the founders of the school who underwent enormous difficulties in establishing the school. Moreover, he firmly believed that the school is an example for international cooperation by giving admissions to foreign students and promoting awareness of multiple cultures. Finally, he wished all the participants & winners of the arts festival.

On Thursday the 27th Arts Festival ceremony was inaugurated by the Head Girl Ms. LincyR Macedo,by lighting the traditional lamp. Master Levin RMacedo, the deputy head boy welcomed the gathering,Master Dennis Suresh, the prefect of Yellow House compered the programme and Master Sreyams Sunil, the prefect of Blue House proposed the vote of thanks.

The competitions were done in four days.In the morning of the5thSaturday,recitation, extempore, elocution mimicry and monoact were the highlight.In the morning of the 19th, Saturdaythe artistic talents of the children like western vocal, Indian vocal, Indian classical song, Instrumental Music, group song, fancy dress,extempore,etc, were performed. On25thFriday,solodance creative and solo dancefolk for the students were held.The final day, on26th Saturday, the events like Solo dance semi classical, mime and group dance mesmerized the audience.

The Chief Guest & other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners. The winner’s trophy for the 27th Arts Festival was lifted by the Green House and the Runners’ up by the Blue House. The President of SMC, Dr. Thomas Varghese and the principal presented the chief guest with a memento. All the students who excelled in the recent inter school Oman cluster sports events were felicitated with a memento. The physical education teachers, Mr. Biju Das and Mrs. Bini Sarah Samuel who had gone an extra mile were felicitated with  memento.

The audience and the students were enthralled by various cultural events, starting with junior and senior students dance performances. The auditorium was hypnotized by the impeccableshow. The special dance performance by Ms. V Angelina Aishwarya was a real entertainment for the audience. The evening concluded with the singing of the School anthem. Mrs. Naga Subhashini, Senior Faculty proposed vote of thanks. The visiting dignitaries, parents & students left the venue with fond memories of having spent a wonderful evening.

Indian School Ibri celebrated its 16th Kids festival with glitz and glamour in the school auditorium on the 24th of October 2019. The opening ceremony was marked by lighting the lamp by the head boy Master. Abhijay Anoop. The Head boy in his welcome speech thanked the Principal for giving the students a platform to exhibit their hidden talents which enhance their confidence level and make the stage vibrant. He opened the 16th kids’ festival. Many stage and off-stage events like singing competition, handwriting, clay moulding, drawing, action song, story narration, smiling contest and just a minute, were conducted and all the students took part with zeal and enthusiasm. Mrs. Chitra Narayan, Director, Middle East nursery, graced the occasion as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. She was accorded a red carpet welcome at the school entrance by the President Dr.Thomas Varghese, members of the school management committee, Mr. Unnikrishnan M P, Mr. Firoz Husain, Dr. Vijay Shanmugam, Dr. Suresh Balakrishnan, Mr. Abdul Gafoor Quadri (former president of SMC), Principal Mr. V.S. Suresh, staff and students followed by a guard of honour by the student council led by the Head boy Mast. Abhijay Anoop and the head girl Ms. Lindsey R. Macedo. Mr. Suresh, the Principal, in his welcome speech extended a hearty welcome to all. He thanked the teachers for their dedication and hardwork. He wholeheartedly thanked the chief guest for accepting the invitation and presiding over the function. Next, Dr. Thomas Varghese, the president of the SMC, said that parenting is a job without any hands on training. Parents train their children off stage and the children mimic their parents and perform well on stage. The chief guest, while addressing the audience lauded the efforts put in by the students and teachers and congratulated all the kids who took part in various events,

making her feel nostalgic. During her speech she explained about parents and teachers who are divided into three kinds such as complaining, explaining and inspiring. However, when parents and teachers do their duties with love they become wonderful role models and the world becomes a magnificent place to live. Dr Thomas Varghese and the principal presented a memento to the chief guest. The tiny tots participated in many competitions like fancy dress, solo dance and group dance. The dynamic tots rejuvenated everyone with their energy, enthusiasm and splendid costumes leaving the audience speechless. The scintillating performance of children that led everyone speechless was a sumptuous feast for the eyes and ears of the audience. The chief guest gave away the prizes to the winners. Mrs. Mahanaz Hamadani, Kindergarten Supervisor, proposed the vote of thanks. The evening culminated with the singing of the School Anthem.

Indian School Ibri celebrated its 15th Kids festival in grandness and glamour in the school auditorium on the 18th of October 2018. The opening ceremony was marked by lighting of the lamp by the head girl Ms. Neha Muhammed Rafi. During her welcome speech, she thanked the Principal, Mr. Suresh, for giving all the students a platform to exhibit their hidden talents, and also declared the 15th kids Festival open. Many stage and non-stage events like singing competition, handwriting, claymoulding , drawing, action song, Story narration, Smiling contest and just a minute were conducted and all the students took part with zeal and enthusiasm. Mr. Mohammad Sabir Raza Faizi, Director in charge, BOD, graced the occasion as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He was accorded a red carpet welcome at the school entrance by the President Dr. Thomas Varghese, Members of the school management committee, Principal, staff and students followed by a guard of honour by the student council led by the Head boy Mast. Ajzal Sharaf and the Head girl Ms. Neha Muhammed Rafi. The Principal, in his welcome speech extended a hearty welcome to the chief guest, SMC members, former president, Mr. Abdul Gafoor Quadri, students, parents and staff. He said that kids festival is not merely a matter to compete with others, but with oneself, and emphasized that by taking part in kids festival the children get colossal confidence in building their skills for their future development. Next, Dr. Thomas Varghese, president of the SMC, appreciated the students for their extraordinary talents which was portrayed on the stage. The chief guest, while addressing the audience lauded the efforts put in by the students and teachers and congratulated all the kids who took part in the events and also thanked the Principal and teachers for giving a platform for the students to exhibit their hidden

talents by organising kids and arts festivals. He also stressed on the students to take an active part in YCIS(young communitarian of Indian schools) which would train the students on community service. Dr. Thomas Varghese, presented a memento to the chief guest. The tiny tots participated in many competitions like fancy dress, solo dance and group dance. The dynamic tots with all their liveliness, enthusiasm and splendid costumes stole the heart of the whole audience. The energetic dance performance of children left everyone spellbound. The chief guest gave away the prizes to the winners. Mrs. Mahanaz Hamadani, the senior teacher proposed the vote of thanks.

Indian School Ibri celebrated its 26th Arts Festival with great zest, vibrancy and elation in the school auditorium.

Established in 1993, the Arts Festival, the festival of talents’ aims to bring out the dormant talents of students and give them scope for creative expressions.

Dr. J. Retnakumar, Chief Executive Officer, ISC- Insurance Services Centre, S. Of Oman, presided the occasion as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, on Saturday, 27th October, 2018. He was given a red carpet welcome at the school entrance by the members of the School Management Committee, the Principal, staff and students followed by the guard of honour by the student council led by the Head boy Mast. Ajzal Sharaf and Head girl Ms. Neha Muhammed Rafi.

Principal, Mr. V. S. Suresh, in his welcome address extended a hearty welcome to the chief Guest, Dr. J Retnakumar. Ms. Neha Muhammed Rafi presented a floral bouquet to the Chief guest. Principal extended a cordial welcome to the School Management Committee President, Dr. Thomas Varghese, Convenor, Mr. Unnikrishnan, Treasurer, Mr. Firoz Hussain, Members: Mr. Jamal Hassan, Dr. Vijay Shanmugham, & Dr. Suresh Balakrishnan and Former SMC Presidents, Office bearers and Members who attended the function. He also welcomed all the parents, staff and students for the closing ceremony of 26th Arts Festival.

He whole heartedly thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion.

The chief guest was superlative in his appreciation of the students, parents, teachers and the management for a classic programme presented. He stated that he felt honoured and elated to have visited Indian School Ibri. He advised the students to grow with values and virtues by respecting their teachers. He urged the students to be good human beings by being truthful to oneself, In order to become a successful human being intelligent Quotient and Emotional Quotient are not important. Moreover, one should possess social Quotient and Relation Quotient. The chief guest encouraged the students to utilize their full potential skills .

Mr. Sunny Mathew, a senior teacher, proposed the vote of thanks, which consist of thanksgiving to all the esteemed persons who adjudged the events conducted during the four days of Arts Festival including the teachers of Indian School Nizwa and Indian School Muladha for their valuable support and cooperation. He earnestly thanked all the sponsors of the 26th Arts Festival.

The competitions were done in four days starting on Saturday and were carried on through Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, the 20th October 2018, the Arts Festival ceremony was inaugurated by the students council of the School. Mast.Ajzal Sharaf the Head boy inaugurated the 26th Arts Festival by lighting the traditional lamp. Ms.Kavita Nagaraj, prefect of Blue House welcomed the gathering and Ms. Maham Shafique, the prefect of Red House proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Catherine Grace, of class XII, compered the programme.

On 20th, Saturday morning singing and instrumental music were the highlights. On 25th. Thursday evening, solo dance classical, solo dance creative,semi classical and folk dance, on 26th, Friday morning mime and group songs were the highlights. The evening commenced with Fancy dress, solo dance of juniors, tableaus of juniors and seniors. Poem recitation, extempore speech, and elocution were experimented on 27th, Saturday morning followed by the group dance of juniors and seniors in the evening. The dance items were stupendous. The tableaus displayed social awareness of the participants with much skills and proficiency. All the programmes captivated the audience.

The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the winners. The overall trophy for the 26th Arts Festival was lifted by the Yellow House and the Runner up trophy by the Blue House. The President of SMC, Dr. Thomas Varghese, presented the chief guest with a memento as a token of our gratitude and appreciation. Ms. Sandhya Vijayan, the former convenor and member of the SMC was felicitated with a memento for her dedicated service. The students who won in CBSE Oman Cluster Athletic Meet 2018, Neha Muhammed Rafi, Gowrishanker Manoj, Amit Krishna and Mohammed Hussain were also honoured by the Chief guest on this occasion.

The audience and the students were beguiled by various cultural events, starting with junior and senior students dance performances. The auditorium was hypnotized by their impeccable portrayal. The evening concluded with the singing of the royal anthem followed by the national anthem. The visiting dignitaries, students and committee members left the venue with fond memories of having spent a wonderful evening.
