Day

The Intra House Quiz competition, for the year 2018-19 was conducted by the Blue House on the 17th of May, 2018 in the school auditorium. The quiz began with the introduction of the house master and contestants. It all started with a detailed layout of the rules and the various rounds that were to be conducted. Even the audience had their share of quizzing at certain rounds, which was indeed highly welcome by all. The questions put forth to the students were intriguing, exciting and made the audience applaud excitedly when the team answered correctly. The first place for the juniors was bagged by Mohammed C.A, of class VIII B. The first place for seniors was bagged by Bryan Philip, of class X. It was a fun filled event with everyone challenging their general knowledge to the utmost.

The students and staff celebrated Hindi Divas on the 13th of September 2018, as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as a national language of India. Mr.Tripathi, a senior teacher emphasized that we should be proud of our national language and should learn to speak in Public domain without any hesitation. Next, Mr. Suresh, the Principal, spoke on the importance of Hindi as a national language and exhorted the students to learn Hindi. As a part of celebrations various competitions were organized and the principal gave away prizes to the winners. A special assembly in Hindi was conducted as an honour to the Hindi Language. Over all it was a fun filled day which inculcated values of deep respect and appreciation for one of the old Indian languages.

Indian School Ibri organised Junior’s Debate on the topic ‘Is Digitized world A Boon or a Bane?’ on the 30th of August 2018 in the school auditorium. A welcome address was given by Ms.Swathi . The aim of the competition was to hone public speaking skills of the students and teach them to articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. Each participant was given one minute to argue and thirty seconds for rebuttal. Ms. Arpita of class VIII, Ms. Padmapriya of class VII A and Ishita Sharma of VIII B who spoke against the topic won the first, second and third places respectively. The participants who argued against the topic were Ms. Alisha Bukhari of class VIII B won the first place , Master Vishwa and Syed Zaid both of VIII A scored the second place respectively. All the participants took part enthusiastically. Mr. Tripathi , proposed the vote of thanks.

Earth Day was celebrated on the 22nd of April 2018, in the school auditorium. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Mr. Suresh explained the importance of how to preserve nature and save the Earth; Our Earth is the only planet suitable for human beings to live. It is God’s gift for us to safeguard this planet. He explained the students about manmade activities which are contributing to global warming and said the students must make efforts to reverse the damage to the environment. He as an educator motivated each one to contribute his/her own way to make our planet a beautiful place to dwell.


Eid is a festival of prayers, joy , happiness and brotherhood. At Indian School Ibri, Eid awareness programme was held on the 16th August, 2018 in the school auditorium with great fervor and excitement. Mr. Suresh , the principal, spoke on the importance of sharing. To commemorate the occasion , the students of grade IX enacted a skit enlightening the students about the spirit behind the festival. Eid devotional songs were sung by the students in Arabic. Eid message was delivered by Sanofer teacher. The highlight of the Eid awareness programme was a card making competition; the four houses took part in the competiton. The first place was bagged by the Yellow House, the second place was shared by the Blue and Red houses and the third place won by the Green House. The principal, gave away the prizes to the winners. Sweets were distributed at the end of the programme.

Indian School Ibri celebrated the Environment Day on the 5th of June 2018 in the school auditorium. Catherine Grace, of class XII welcomed the gathering in her speech she exhorted the students and all those concerned to keep the surrounding clean and save the environment. Next, Nisha teacher, spoke on the importance of 3R’sReduce, Reuse and Recycle which will help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. She urged the students about the three ways to eliminate waste and save the environment.

On the eve of the world Environment Day, a poster making competition was conducted. The main objective was to instill in young students the significance of saving the environment and providing avenues to showcase their creativity and sensitise them towards their role in preserving the environment. The poster making competition was divided into two categories. The first category is from grade 7 to 9 Choey a student from grade 7A won the first prize. The second category is from grade 10 to 12,Pranavand Gayathri Bala of class X won the first and second prizes respectively
